Η Αικατερίνη Μπούρα είναι Πρέσβης ε.τ.
Γεννημένη στην Αθήνα, η κ. Αικατερίνη Μπούρα εντάχθηκε στη Διπλωματική Υπηρεσία το 1984. Έχει υπηρετήσει σε διάφορες θέσεις στο υπουργείο Εξωτερικών στην Αθήνα, και σε διπλωματικές θέσεις στη Λευκωσία, στο Λονδίνο και το Συμβούλιο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης στις Βρυξέλλες. Διετέλεσε Γενική πρόξενος της Ελλάδας στη Νέα Υόρκη, πρέσβης της Ελλάδας στον Λίβανο, πρέσβης της Ελλάδας στα ΗΑΕ και μόνιμος αντιπρόσωπος της Ελλάδας στα Ηνωμένα Εθνη.
Η κ. Μπούρα είναι απόφοιτος της Φιλολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, ενώ παράλληλα είναι κάτοχος διδακτορικού διπλώματος στην Ιστορία από το King’s College του Πανεπιστημίου του Λονδίνου με θέμα το ‘Ελληνικό millet στην Οθωμανική Πολιτική: Πτυχές των Σχέσεων Ελλήνων και Νεότουρκων 1908–1912’. Είναι Πρόεδρος των Φίλων της Γενναδείου Βιβλιοθήκης.
Επιτυχημένη μελετήτρια, έχει δημοσιεύσει έρευνες πάνω σε αρκετά αρχεία, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του αρχείου του Αθανασίου Σουλιώτη-Νικολαΐδη στη Γεννάδειο Βιβλιοθήκη.
Αφυπηρέτησε το 2019 και πλέον είναι πρέσβης επί τιμή.

Born in Athens, Aikaterini Boura joined the Diplomatic Service in 1984. She has served in various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens, and in diplomatic posts in Nicosia, London and the Council of the European Union in Brussels. She served as Consul General of Greece in New York, Ambassador of Greece to Lebanon, Ambassador of Greece to the UAE and Permanent Representative of Greece to the United Nations.
Dr. Boura is a graduate of the University of Athens with a degree in Literature, and holds a Ph.D. in History from King’s College, University of London, on ‘Greek Millet in Ottoman Politics: Aspects of Greek-Neo-Turkish Relations 1908–1912’. She is the President of the Friends of the Gennadio Library.
A successful scholar, she has published research on several archives, including the archive of Athanasios Souliotis-Nikolaidis in the Gennadio Library.
She retired in 2019 and is now an ambassador ad honorem.
